Setting Up Day

So today we have been setting up the shop and preparing all of the fantastic work to go on sale for you on Saturday. The most exciting part for us was unwrapping all of the work as we had not seen it before in the flesh, it certainly gave us a festive feeling.
It has been a long day setting up but the festive feeling continued as the Christmas lights were switched on and we treated ourselves to a Hog Roast Baguette and Starbucks Hot Chocolate that fuelled us through the evening.
Tomorrow we have some touching up to do before the Private View a celebration for all of our talented artists.
Our evening ends tonight with a crafty activity, bunting making, for our window display to finish the shop off tomorrow. Hope to see you at the shop from Saturday.

The set up has begun

So we have now set foot in the shop, and have been busy painting. The walls are now lovely and fresh to display all of the brilliant work on. We couldn't have done it without the help of some very talented artists.

Firstly Natasha Wightman who will be showcasing a selection of functional ceramics. This year Natasha attended the Media Innovation award ceremony where her award design was selected to be presented to the winners. Natasha worked extremely hard and presented some stunning awards.
Secondly Amy Whittingham, a Glass Technician at Plymouth College of art. You can view her beautiful Glass work on her website. Thanks for your help guys!

As we are open is so near Christmas, the shop would not be complete without some fantastic illustrated christmas cards.

Holly Liminton is in her 3rd year studying Illustration, she specialises in writing and illustrating her own children's books. Holly has led many illustration projects and workshops with children of all ages. These Christmas cards are perfect for the festive season.

Jemma Worth is in her 2nd year of Illustration and has also produced some lovely christmas cards, this is just one out of two designs, you will just have to pop down to the shop to see more.

So the best part of setting up is tomorrow, displaying all of this fantastic work we have for you. Remember the shop is open from 24th of November to the 1st of December so don't miss this great opportunity to support local artists and pick up some beautiful unique christmas gifts.
